Kids Play at Directbuy…directbuy Offers “play” Areas for Parents and Kids
That’s a luxury members with children don’t always have. That’s why DirectBuy has developed a “Kids Zone” area in their clubs, so parents can focus on the task at hand and kids can enjoy the DirectBuy experience, too.
Though not a supervised area, the Kids Zone features a number of things to keep school-age children occupied and entertained: books, craft, puzzles and games. The Kids Zone also includes a flat screen television with DVD player so children of members can watch movies.
“Let’s face it, most kids would rather go to the dentist than watch their parents shop for their next home improvement project. By the same token, it’s difficult for members with children to get the most out of the experience and do the research they need to do if they’re concerned about the kids getting fidgety. The Kids Zone gives children of DirectBuy members a place to play games, watch TV or even make new friends with other members’ kids while the grown-ups have their ‘fun’,” said Stephen Levin, co-owner of DirectBuy of The Palm Beaches.
Creating fun things to do for children is nothing new for DirectBuy. DirectBuy franchises across North America regularly donate equipment to youth organizations like the Boys & Girls Clubs, YMCAs, and children’s hospitals.
“Because we are so entrenched in the community, we have an even greater incentive to make this a one-of-a-kind, unique shopping experience because many of the members are our friends, neighbors, even relatives,” said Levin. “The Kids Zone and donations to groups like the Boys & Girls Club and the Y are just an extension of that philosophy.”

parenting difficult kids Questions
Is it legal for So. Cal. Edison to terminate electric power to a home where three kids and their parents live?
I believe I heard somewhere that it is very difficult, if not impossible, for the power company to terminate power to a home, (for a temporary non-payment of the bill) as long as there are children living there.
Am I right?
If so, is there any specific ages to which this applies?
We have three kids, one is less than one year old, one is 3 and one is 5.
Help Please!
Unfortunately, no it’s not illegal, it’s like getting your cable cut off for “temporary” non payment, now that should be a crime
What would most parents do if bought a swing set for their kids…and then they didnt ever want to play on it?
how common this happens and how difficult to put together usually?…and why?..lol..as i think it was a 2 day project for me…but how long for most? and what would think if spent money on something that was going to sit in your garden for 10 years..and they didnt even want to bother playing on it in the first week? (btw, it was a gift)
a. take it apart again and return it for refun?
b.. let it sit in the garden till they decide if they like it or not..despite what they say?
c other?
please epxlain what you can..AGAIN,,HOW COMMON AND WHY THIS IS?
thanks fo ryour answers!
SHOULD ASKE THEM POINT BLANK IF THEY REALLY WANT IT OR NOT? OR WOULD THIS NOT BE THE RIGHT THING TO DO? AND WHY?
Is it hot where you live? Are your kids used to playing on swing sets/playscapes? Have you been asking them to go play on it? How old are your kids? Any of those things could be mitigating circumstances.
It’s super hot where we are right now so even if I put one up my kids would be too hot to play on it for any length of time (like more than five minutes). And they can happily play on a playscape/swing set for hours.
My kids weren’t huge fans of swing sets until we started going to the playground regularly. They might like to climb for a little bit but it took a long time before they really started enjoying it, especially the swings.
My kids will naturally resist anything I push on them — so if you are talking it up, there’s a chance they don’t want to go on it just because mom/dad says it’s fun.
If your kids are older than 7 — they are probably growing out of the swing set stage. If that’s the case, I’d return it or Craig’s list it.
But, if it’s any of the first ones, give it a chance and see if they come around.
As for time putting together — most of the ones I’ve looked at say that they take one to three full days to put together.
