"Beauty is not in the face; beauty is a light in the heart." ~ Kahlil Gibran
So I was sound asleep last night when The Karate Kid wandered into our room and asked me a question. What he was asking didn’t make sense and I wasn’t sure if that was because I was half asleep or because he was.. or maybe both. Then I hear this noise. I ask “Are you peeing?” He says no but I can clearly see a dark circle growing at his feet. This will be the last time I let him have one of my Aquafina bottles before bedtime!! He doesn’t remember any of this. Weird.
My parents tell a story of yours truly sleepwalking at around the same age. Apparently I walked out to the kitchen, which was beside the living room where they were watching the 11:00 news, and opened the fridge. When they asked what I was doing I said I had to go the bathroom. I was told to go back to bed. I would have thought that they should have told me to go into the bathroom but that is just me. Anyway, I guess I didn’t pee myself though. I am quite sure they would have told me about that!
The peeing in your sleep thing comes from The Mr’s gene pool. He says he remembers dreaming he was peeing and waking up in a puddle. Maybe that is a guy thing?

I did some sleepwalking as a child. One night, I wandered into the living room and (according to my dad) he called my name several times. I didn’t reply, but my eyes were wide open. He put me back to bed. Apparently, I did this often. Starting around age eight, I graduated from innocent walking episodes to tearing my room apart. Yes, while asleep! I’d wake up in the morning, twisted up in the sheet and blankets, and my room was a shambles. I’d never remember a thing.
Bedwetting is more prominent in males, I think.
