"Beauty is not in the face; beauty is a light in the heart." ~ Kahlil Gibran
So here it is my day off and I have a ton of things I want to do… and a ton of things I should do… and not enough hours in the day to do all of it… so.. I will have to pick and choose and not get all twirly* about it.
I do want to keep myself distracted from the fact that it is the 1st, which means the rent is due. Will the tenants from hell be on time this month? Since Mrs Tenant gets paid on Thursdays it is usually the day I have to wait for to in order to get “the rest” of the rent.. which has become more and more money each month. But I am hoping they have their stuff together this month and will have all of it today. Certainly makes my life easier for this week. Being the owner of a two family home has it’s advantages… and disadvantages… unfortunately lately the advantages really don’t make it worth it. But what can ya do? Ah there she goes sneaking out… Time to find some distractions!!
Did our Trick-or-Treating at the mall last night. The Karate Kid dressed as a Ninja. No surprise there… then we did dinner in the food court. By then we had done the loop of both floors of the mall and I was on an endorphin high. The lines everywhere were killer though so when I finally got to sit down I crashed and was ready to go. It was so noisy there. So many babies screaming. Ya just want to go over and say “Pick up your kid already!!!!” How do you just carry on your conversation and ignore the fact that your kid is in the carriage beside you screaming his/her little heart out??
Anyway, Off I go to tackle my lists….
(Day one of the NaBloPoMo down… 29 more to go! Here’s hoping!!)
* I used to work with a women who, when totally stressed out would do this little half step twirl thing, which I will imitate when things get crazy in order to lighten the mood

The kids screaming their little hearts out grow up to be parents who carry on conversations while their kids scream their little hearts out. Amazing how that happens, huh?
You certainly have patience with Mrs. Tenant. Not sure I would..
