Well it has been craaaaazy here in the Foolie house. I started my new job on the 21st. Learned the registers. I was scheduled from Noon until 5pm. I spent a couple hours watching and learning then when the person that was training me went to lunch I was put on my own register. The next day I was off then back to work Tuesday from 10am until 5pm. I was on my own register for most of the day and for part of it I was the only cashier! Hmmm. Was this general practice or where they just showing the confidence they had in me? Hmmm The day after that I got to play on the sales floor and set some planograms. Apparently I work too fast for them because they ran out of things for me to do. I also got to cover lunch breaks on the registers, all alone again. This time I was asked to answer the phones as well… I had to ask then how to put a call on hold. On Friday, my last day of the week, I got to put out ornaments. As well as run back and forth to the registers when they got busy. I was asked repeatedly how I liked what I was doing. I found out yesterday that the reason I was asked was that they had just spent a week training someone who couldn’t handle the busy Saturday and quit. Obviously not cut out for retail!! The fun thing about working until 5 pm is racing home to drive The Drama Queen up to school for play practice. Then I hurry home to get The Karate Kid fed (after BG check and insulin) then we chill for a few hours and then it is back to school to get The Drama Queen, and sometimes her friend, after BG check, bedtime snack, and insulin. I am getting a little tired of the whole “and sometimes her friend” thing. They want to car pool, but will only drop off and not pick up. Bullshit people!

Also I have decided to close comments on all entries after a week. I am tired of the stupid spamish comments on posts over a week old with links to shit. They do searches for “Remember my information” and ” Notify me of follow-up comments”. I usually delete them and/or leave some nasty comment in place of their “Oh wonderful article” comment…. they even do this on Memes and Mutterings. Yeah take a hike!

The tenants were supposed to move out on Sunday. They are still here! I guess they wanted their new landlord to put in new floors and she hadn’t done that yet. From what the kids say Mr Tenant wants to sue… yeah so do I if their asses aren’t out by tomorrow!!!!!!!!

Oh so what else? Not much I can think of… OH I almost forgot!! BOOBIETHON!! ~~If I have time I will be going pink for the duration… well pinker!~~ I recycled an old template! YAY! I won’t have much money to donate this year so I am thinking I will have to show the boobies! Hey why not right? It’s a worthwhile cause!! So how bout you? Donate! $$ or Boobies!!

Sounds like you’re handling the job well..I don’t know about the “only cashier” thing, though. Sounds kind of rough for a newbie, even if you do have retail experience.

Odd that EE is suffering from spammers now. Never did before. I just installed a plugin on my blog that closes comments on posts more than 30 days old. May change it to 14, we’ll see. The spam plugin catches the crap, but I still have to delete it. Pain in the ass.

What I am getting could happen no matter what CMS you are using, not your “traditional” spamming method They post a comment through the normal means with links to commerce sites as the URL. The comments sound scripted, and are usually complementary, but out of context. For instance, I used to do the Mutterings (ya know the I say and you think thing) and the last one I deleted commented that it was a great article I had written and blah blah blah. Only happens once in a great while but always to posts that are older. Not sure why they would even do that, I would think they would want their crap more noticeable… maybe they think I won’t catch it if it is put on an older entry

Ya know, I don’t often get SPAM and usually it’s a “one-at-a-time” kinda thing, but I always catch it because it’s a comment that makes absolutely no sense for the entry for which it was written.

My comments close after a very short time, though (I think a week?) since it’s the older stuff that tends to get hit.

Glad to see you’ve gone pink! I so very love this template!!!

RE: spam-At least you all get spam comments that make some sort of sense, even if they are out of context. The ones that get trapped on my site are always gibberish..long strings of letters and nonesense with pointless links inserted. Why do they even bother?
