Had a shower to attend for a cousin we only see at weddings and showers. It was a big deal to me to attend and so I did. Unfortunately my whole schedule got thrown out of whack. And now I am trying to get back into whack.

So I tackled the list again. Got the taxes done today and have efiled… just waiting to see if it was accepted and then wait on the return. First year in I don’t know how long that we didn’t have to pay to the state. Gotta love employers that know what they are doing… oh wait! Heh!

Got a ton of pictures taken this weekend. I think that I will have every inch of wall space in my living room covered by March..

Thinking of getting a ton of the pictures together to make calendars for christmas presents next year. I say that a lot and never get around to it.

The itch to end all itches will happen when you can’t reach it to scratch it

So I am on my way home yesterday and just after I pull out of the parking lot to start my 45 minute ride home,  I get this itch on the side of my left thigh. I scratch at it but I am wearing jeans and the scratching through the denim is not really helping. I scratch a little harder and it seems to ebb just a bit… I stop. It comes back seconds later even itchier. This goes on for a while: itch scratch ebb itchier scratch etc., etc. So here I am on the highway scratching away every few seconds wondering what this must look like to my fellow commuters. Heh! I figure that the only way to complete kill the itch is a full on nail to skin scratch. I decide to try reaching down the waste band of my pants. I have my seatbelt on & I am wearing my winter coat which is zipped midway. The coat reaches to mid thigh so I am sitting on it. I decide to lift the coat and go underneath it to then reach down the waste band of my pants. Yeah this is not so easy while doing 70mph. I get it out from under me, but it is too awkward to reach under so I decide to unzip the coat. The coat is now all bunched up and unzipping with my left hand only is not so easy. I pull down it gets caught a little so I have to go back up. But going back up brings the whole coat up and this is not very conducive to unzipping. Plus I have to stop every few seconds to scratch at the itch through my pants… So I very carefully hook my right thumb out while keeping the other four fingers of my right hand on the wheel and hold the coat. This helps, YAY! So I finally get my coat unzipped, and attempt to reach into my waste band. I get in a little and my engagement ring gets stuck so I try to pull my hand out and I can’t… this I am thinking it the perfect position to be getting into an accident in. So I I decide I will just wait until I stop and then deal with it… but the itch is back and it is driving me mad!!! Suddenly my hand is just free. I don’t know how or why and I don’t care I dig at the itch through my pant leg again. At this point I say fuck it and decide I am going to unzip and drop the bottoms if I have to because this itch is going to drive me insane (too late?) So again with my left hand I go at the button. Thankfully this is an older pair of jeans and the button hole is pretty loose from years of use. The zipper on the other hand is not so easy with the left hand only. I tug and tug then scratch and tug some more. I can’t get it to go down!! I puff out my belly to give a little resistance and this works a tiny bit, I pull it in and it goes down a tiny bit more. Finally I am tugging and moving my belly in a way that would make Shakira jealous and the zipper is all the way down. I attempt to just reach in and scratch and I get thisclose… but not close enough and I can’t seem to bend my fingers in this position to do the actual scratching… This is when the ultimate itch hit. I can take it no more! So I roll my hips to the right as if to let off some gas and I can move the hand and bend the fingers I scratch for just seconds but it is enough I have finally done it….

So that must be why we have only gotten rain for the whole season… oh it did snow twice… both times it melted within a day or two. No major accumulation, very bad for business!! It has rained off and on for two days and is now getting cold again. Looks like it will change over to sleet around my trip home today and then snow later on. *fingers crossed* I sure don’t want to be lugging a ton of 50lb bags of ice melt down to the basement!!!!
