When you’re abroad:
It’s recommended to register in the Israeli embassy, and to specify what your trip’s route is. Moreover, you should find out about dangerous places. Important addresses and telephones could be given in the offices of the foreign ministry.
If you have information about Israelis who are in danger, or you are in the vicinity of a place where disaster has happened and you know the whereabouts of Israelis around you, please report it to the closest Israeli embassy as soon as possible.
When you’re going to places without any means of communication available, it’s recommended to obtain a cellular phone in case of an emergency.
Don’t exceed the visa’s validity, avoid working illegally, and obey the rules of the country. Keep in touch with your family at home and report them any changes in the trip’s route. We advocate you leave a copy of the trip’s route at home.
Remember – direct contact between the citizen abroad with the Israel embassy or with the family might speed up the treatment in case of a distress the citizen has gotten into.
Need assistance:
Lost/stolen passport – an Israeli representative at the consulate will equip you with an alternative travelling document.
Financial problem – ask your family at home to transfer money to you by using WESTERN UNION, which is represented in Israel by the postal bank.
In exceptional cases, after consulting with the consul, you can make a transfer by using the foreign ministry.
Sickness or injury – you can receive a list of doctors and hospitals nearby from the Israel’s representatives. Moreover, the consul representative will stay in touch with the patient and his family at Israel.
Death of an Israeli citizen abroad – you can receive logistic assistance in the arrangements of transferring the deceased coffin back home, from the Israeli representatives.
Arrest – make sure that an announcement regarding the arrest will be transferred to the Israeli representatives. You can receive a list of local attorneys, but the expense is on the man who got arrested or his family. We highlight that you should not see this as a recommendation on that lawyer or another. The state of Israel, the foreign ministry, and the consulate representatives won’t take upon themselves any responsibility on that matter.
The consulate representative will check the conditions under which the Israeli prisoner is held on, and, if the Israeli prisoner is interested, he will ensure his representation by a lawyer. Moreover, it’s the consulate representative responsibility to make sure that the Israeli prisoner is not being badly discriminated by other foreign citizens due to his Israeli citizenship. Under circumstances that allow it, the consul will visit the prisoner. If the Israeli prisoner would like to, the consulate representative could pass a message regarding the arrest to his family.
The Israeli government does not release the Israeli citizen from arrest or gets involved in the legal procedures accepted in that country. The Israeli government will not pay for any expense, such as: medical, rescue, transferring the deceased coffin back home, hotel rooms, flight tickets, lawyer renting, bail or any other financial expense.

Need Information To Save My Sister From Getting Hurt By Gay Husband?
Against the advice of friends, family and myself, my sister married a “former homosexual”. He said he was saved and transformed by an ex-gay ministry. None of us really bought it but she was very much in love with him and compared to former boyfriends, who were abusive he seemed much more sensitive and giving, despite being just a tad effeminate.
Two years into the marriage, the sex diminishes. I keep quiet when she complains to me. Then this year, he cheated on her with a man. He said it was a “slip up” and has gone back into the ex-gay programme to deal with it. I am trying my best not to tell my sister, “I told you so.” because she is really devastated. I also do not want to offend her religious belief but she wants to take him back and I CANNOT watch her get hurt AGAIN! She is my baby sister and now children are involved!
I know these programmes do not change people straight. Where can I get some well researched information on this from an expert she would respect?
How about finding information from the “American Psychological Association?”
They have issued statements warning against these groups as they keep no records of any kind of ’sucesses,’ employ no accredited or certified psycho-therapists, psychologists or psychiatrists. These groups are purely based on faith alone and cannot “cure” something that is not a recognized disease or disorder.
The ONLY thing these groups are good for is driving people to self-loathing and sometimes suicide!
