About the New Hope Preventative Program
The New Hope Program was implemented in September 2008 to offer preventive services to the Bedford Stuyvesant community. It is designed to ensure that children remain safe in the home and help families in crisis prevent foster care placement. New Hope’s caring case planners will strengthen families through casework counseling and link families to culturally based Community-based services.
New Hope offers:
* Crisis Intervention
* Parenting Skills Workshops
* Individual and Family Counseling
* Family Support Services
* Referral Services
New Hope is located at 20 New York Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11216. It is situated in the heart of Bedford Stuyvesant and conveniently located within blocks of most major NYC bus and subway lines. New Hope is located near Restoration Plaza, a historical landmark and haven for the community. As a result, the New Hope Preventive Program is better positioned to provide community-based services to clients and families of Bedford-Stuyvesant.

children services nyc Questions
About to be homeless in NYC- what does this mean for my 5 yr old?
I’m a single mother of a 5 year old. I am planning to go to the homeless services shelter sometime this week. I do not have anyplace else to go. My concerns are:
I am currently trying to get child support from my estranged husband-
Since I am going into a NYC shelter- does that mean ACS will automatically become involved and I will look like a bad mother since I cannot provide a home for my child?
Is it possible that because I will be homeless, my soon-to-be ex husband could get custody of my child, since he has an apartment (with 2 spare bedrooms) and I do not have a home?
“i love cats” you are a complete moron.
Did he abuse you if so they can help you out to get an apartment.If he did why do you have to go and not him?
In NYC, which service is better: AT&T or Verizon?
I have been using GSM phones all the way since the day I bought my first mobile phone as a child. I like GSM because you can travel around the world and don’t need to change your damn sim card. Plus, GSM is more commonly used than CDMA in the rest of the world (except USA?).
But I heard many bad reviews about ATT’s service in NYC… is the gsm service there really that bad? do i have to buy a cdma phone when move to nyc? but i’m that type of person who will travel a lot including outside the States. It feels like a pain to switch but also a pain if my calls drop.
Both are covered throughout the city. However, I have used both AT&T and Verizon, and I have had better service ever since I switched to Verizon. GSM service isn’t as bad as reviews make it seem, but since more providers use it, there are more dropped calls. You don’t have to switch to a CDMA phone, but there is better CDMA coverage in America, due to seemingly greater presence of transmitters and fewer users.
